Caroline Matthey-Marchesi, born in the canton of Vaud, is a lawyer registered with the Vaud Bar.
She has been a member of the Vaud Bar Association (Ordre des avocats vaudois, OAV) and the Swiss Bar Association (Fédération Suisse des Avocats, FSA) since 2019.

As for her academic background, Caroline Matthey-Marchesi studied law at the University of Lausanne, where she obtained her Bachelor and Master degrees.
Subsequently, she obtained the certificate of specialization in legal professions provided by the “Ecole d’avocature” at the University of Geneva (ECAV).
After completing her lawyer internship in the Canton of Geneva, she successfully passed the bar exam in 2018. As part of her lawyer internship, Caroline Matthey-Marchesi assisted clients in various legal fields, before the authorities and courts of different jurisdictions.
Alongside her university studies, Caroline Matthey-Marchesi worked as a legal clerk (ad hoc position) for the Justice of Peace (first instance court) of the district of Lausanne.
Throughout her career, the various activities that Caroline Matthey-Marchesi has performed have enabled her to get acquainted with the judicial systems of both the canton of Geneva and Vaud and to develop an understanding and awareness to the functioning of the courts, due to her experience in the judicial system.
